Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry, the two most successful outlaws in the history of the west, and in all the trains and banks they robbed, they never shot anyone. This made our two latter-day Robin Hoods very popular, with everyone but the railroads and the banks... The comedy western set in the 1880s, Alias Smith & Jones follows the misadventures of Hannibal Heyes and Jed "Kid" Curry, the infamous leaders of the Devil's Hole Gang as they try to go straight while using the aliases Joshua Smith and Thaddeus Jones. Too bad the Governor didn't let anyone else in on their secret. The partners wander the West dodging posses, bounty hunters, other crooks, and the larceny that still lurks in their hearts. The series aired from 1971 to 1973 and stared Pete Duel (Hannibal Heyes/Joshua Smith) and Ben Murphy (Kid Curry,Thaddeus Jones). After Duel's suicide on December 31, 1971, he was replaced by Roger Davis. |
