This wonderful western was based on the classic Western movie of the same name ("The Magnificent Seven"). In the series, seven men are drawn together to protect a small Territory community from a variety of villains and outlaws. Each of these men has his own past mistakes and private demons to fight as well. After being launched as a midseason replacement series, "The Magnificent Seven" was canceled by CBS after the half season run. Fan support brought it back for a second season on TNT, but the series continued to falter and was pulled again. Idiots! Stars: Michael Biehn (Chris Larabee, a gunfighter who lost his wife and son to a fire almost three years earlier), Eric Close (Vin Tanner, a former bounty-hunter and buffalo hunter who is now wanted for a murder he didn't commit), Laurie Holden (Mrs. Mary Travis, the widow of Steven Travis and the owner/operator of The Clarion, a newspaper), Andrew Kavovit (JD Dunne, a young man from back east who was drawn to the excitement of the frontier after his mother died), Dale Midkiff (Buck Wilmington, avowed ladies' man, and Larabee's long-time friend), Ron Perlman (Josiah Sanchez, a former priest with an interest in spirits – liquid and other), Anthony Starke (Ezra Standish, a gambler and con man with a heart of tarnished gold), Rick Worthy (Nathan Jackson, a former slave who picked up his healing skills on the battlefields of the Civil War).
