The U.S reply to the popular James Bond movies was this popular spy spoof. Two super agents, Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) from the U.S. and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum) from Russia, were teamed to fight the international crime syndicate THRUSH. UNCLE (United Network Command for Law and Enforcement) had its secret headquarters in New York. Running the office was Mr. Waverly (Leo G. Carroll), whose function was to assign agents to cases and coordinate their efforts. Aired 1964-1968 on NBC. |
